Have you ever received a package in the mail that had foam peanuts inside? If so, you might already know that cats think these little static foam peanuts are their new play toys. Cats will dig, claw, bite away the box until they unleash the little foam peanuts from the box. Can you imagine walking into a house and seeing nothing but peanuts everywhere and your cat running around with peanuts sticking to their hair? It sure is funny until you try to catch the cat and clean up the mess.

Cats Love To Play With Strange Things
January 19th, 2008 · No Comments
Cats are curious creatures and tend to play with things that intrigue them, but make life harder for us. Cat toys are on the way out. Take for instance, a roll of weed eater string. Leave it on the table and it is a sure invitation for the cat to play. In no time at all, they can unravel a brand new roll of string and have nothing but a tangled mess. As they lay there looking at you scolding them, you cannot touch them because they honestly believe they are hiding in this mess of string.

Choosing Cat Toys

Buying cat toys can be tricky with all the choices made available to us. I have found the best toys are the ones right in our own homes. Since playtime is important for our beloved felines, it is good to have a variety of items available to them.
Different sized balls are great. Some balls come with the option to put catnip inside and this will help attract your cat to the ball or any other toy you put catnip on or in. I have put catnip inside of a sock and knotted it and my cat played with it for days. The ingredients in catnip create a frisky, high feeling for your cat. They may appear dazed after receiving some and that is common.
