Having three cats is rough on the budget since you need litter every week and food every three weeks. One way I have managed to save money on cat litter is by cleaning the litter box once in the morning and once at bedtime. This has helped keep the litter in the box where it belongs. I have a cat that is so tidy that he insists on cleaning up after everyone and scatters litter all over the place.

By cleaning the box and letting him help clean at night has cut down on the amount of cat litter outside of the litter box. Another thing I noticed was that buying a big box of cat litter at Wal-Mart instead of little boxes at the grocery store has cut down on the cost as well. It is easier to keep the cost down for cat food and cat litter by shopping somewhere other than the grocery store.

I have even noticed a difference in my own food bill by doing some grocery shopping at the Super Wal-Mart. I guest if you have a lot of animals and need to cut costs so everyone has what they need, you have to shop around for everything.
