If you are in the colder states, you are going to start seeing some nicer weather and along with that nice weather comes fleas. Protecting your cats and even dogs from contacting fleas is so important to their health as well as your peace of mind. It is time to head to the vet or pet store for some flea repellent.

Once you have fleas on the cat is to late to start thinking about flea control, you have to start before the cats or dogs get fleas. I like Frontline for my cats and dogs. It is good for one month and costs around $12 a tube. The tube is good for one month. It is applied between the shoulder blades of the animal and works its way throughout the body.

You will have to do this application every month to protect your cats and dogs from getting fleas. Even if you forgot to apply the flea repellent and they contact fleas, you should apply it immediately and then take the steps to rid your home of the fleas.

Even if your cats do not go outside, they need protection because you go outside and so do dogs. You can infect your cats with fleas if they come inside on your clothing or shoes. Take steps to prevent fleas before they take over your home and your pets.
