Most people, who bring a new kitten home, do not know about all the treatments necessary for a kitten. There are the first vaccinations, health check and a stool check. The stool sample will allow the vet to see if the kitten or cat has worms, which is common in Kittens. Adult cats can contact worms from infected kittens.

A kitten should be checked before being placed with other cats in the home or at least use a different litter box. If the kitten is found to have worms, the vet will prescribe a dewormer that will rid the cat of the worms. It is not healthy for a kitten to go untreated for worms.

Worms can alter the kitten or cats health. If left untreated, kittens and cats will not grow to a recommended weight. It is very important to have your cat checked for worms as soon as you bring them into your home.
