Adults and children take the death of a pet very hard. Some people even have funerals for their beloved cats. A story I once heard about was a woman who had an aging cat that was in poor health and not expected to live much longer. She went to great extents to give your companion the best funeral she could. She had money since it was just her and the cat.

She purchased an infants casket and had a funeral for her cat. The funeral was at the house where visitors saw candles and dim lights just as you would at a funeral home. She had a Chaplin perform a small ceremony for her beloved cat. The cat was then buried at the foot of her cemetery plot so they could be together when she passed. It was a very moving expression of love.

I have two cats and two dogs that lived to be sixteen years old each. My animals are very well cared for and are like little kids. I never thought about having a funeral, but I did have them cremated and their ashes were delivered to me for safekeeping, one was even placed in a urn. I have them in a safe place. I could not bear the thought of just cremating them in large groups and discarding them as if they had no meaning in my life.

Everyone has his or her own way of dealing with the death of beloved pet no matter if it is a cat, dog or even a ferret. Yes, I had a ferret that died as well. Sammy is buried in the backyard where I live now. Missing a pet is sad, but when you can say good-bye the way you want is something that eases ones pain.
