Cats, Birds, Ferrets and Mice Living Together

If this is possible, I would like to know. I watch television every Sunday morning and this animal person has bunny rabbits, mice, ferrets, cats, puppies and birds all walking around mixing and mingling together. Evidently these animals all live together from birth on up. Now my oldest cat is a killer. She is not allowed outdoors, but when she knocks out the corner of the screen in the upstairs window, she always brings home the rewards. She has bought home birds, mice and one time a live baby bunny that I rescued.

I had a ferret for two years that got along fine with my Siamese and Tortie, only because they screamed at him and he got the picture. bel, jak, lexMy oldest cat now was baby and the ferret tried to drag her under the China hutch for breakfast I assume. I had two cockatiels once that one cat liked and the other cat tormented them when I was not looking. I also had a cat one time that one of my cockatiels used to sit on his back.

Now with my array of animals, you would wonder how this person does it and I only succeeded a few times. My dogs and cats get along rather well, but as for bring in mouse, bird or ferret would totally upset my already full house. My dog barks madly at the squirrel outside and chases it as it tries to run away on the utility lines. I real y wonder how someone can have cats live with other animals other than a dog.

If someone has had more success than I have had, I would enjoy hearing about it.
