Cat Information And The Facts Behind Cats Having Nine Lives

Ever wondered when cats fall, they always seem to land properly on their feet. Moreover, they do not suffer from any bruises or injuries. Does it have to do with the old mythological saying that cats have nine lives? Some say cats survive huge fall because they are tenacious and determined of life as compared to other animals. However, why nine lives? Let us explore this issue.

According to the ancient Greek mythology, nine refers to trinity of all trinities. Nine is a mystic number that invokes tradition and religion. Greeks believed Atum-Ra the sun god gave life to nine gods. These gods were together called as Ennead or Nine.

Currently valued at $88 million and chalking up growth of at least 45% annually, the pet health insurance market clearly is a diamond in the rough; there are more than 136 million dogs and cats in this country-but less than 1% of them have insurance (versus 14% of dogs and 5% of cats in the U.K.). As Americans discover more about the true nature of cat health insurance and how it can save them time, stress and money, that 1% will grow exponentially. Even now, large employers are beginning to add pet health insurance options on their employee health packages. Cat Health Insurance is a real solution and is here to stay.

With the increasing popularity of cats as pets, there have been many developments in the accessories we can get to help make their lives, and ours, much happier and more convenient.

Litter boxes, for example, have come a long way from the simple, plastic rectangle filled with plain old sand. Now you can find boxes in many shapes, sizes and colors, as well as other litter disposal and handling mechanisms and systems.

People are always catching their cats doing something amazingly funny or devious. I recently received a cat video to watch that was just amazing to me. Cats Spend 15% Of Their Day Grooming

On thing you can say for cats is that they are very clean animals. Are there other reasons cats spend so much time licking themselves? Most people never ask this question because they think cats lick themselves to stay clean. You will be surprised to learn that there are other reasons why cats lick themselves.

Regulating body heat is another reason why cats lick themselves. If they are hot, the y lick to cool down, if they are cold, licking helps warm them up. The tongue is like a thermostat.

Have you ever wondered who invents the different scoopable cat litters? Well I have to tell you that not all cat litters are created equally. I have always used one brand of cat litter for years and never have had anyone smell a litter box when they visit. I use Scoop Away. Trying to save a penny did not pay off for me a few months ago. It actually caused me nothing but problems.

Making The Most of Your Cat Litter

Having three cats is rough on the budget since you need litter every week and food every three weeks. One way I have managed to save money on cat litter is by cleaning the litter box once in the morning and once at bedtime. This has helped keep the litter in the box where it belongs. I have a cat that is so tidy that he insists on cleaning up after everyone and scatters litter all over the place.

Cats Having Their Catnip Toys

Have you ever wondered what is in those cat toys that make cats go nuts? It is catnip and it is like a high for cats. You can buy cat toys with catnip or you can buy plain old catnip to give the cats once and a while. They will act funny for about an hour or so if you give them straight catnip or as long as they play with their cat toys if that is how they get the catnip.

Is Your Cat Spoiled, Mine Are

You never know what to do after you spoil your cats, but I have two that are spoiled and one that could care less about anything. I can be typing on the keyboard and I have one cat that will pull my arm away from the keyboard to pet her. Then I have one that thinks I should sit on the edge of the chair or couch until he is done sleeping for the night.
